The Many Faces of Family Violence

The Many Faces of Family Violence is a comprehensive CD-ROM dealing with family violence that is intended for all members of the health care team including physicians, nurses, dental professionals, mental health professionals, and social workers.  The complex dynamics of family violence, myths, screening and recognition, documentation, and appropriate referral are stressed.  Sections discussing child abuse, elder abuse, same-sex adult domestic violence, legal issues and understanding the batterer are also included.  Special attention is paid to the services supplied by advocates, victim therapists, and batterer therapists so that clinicians can be aware of what happens after referral.  A resource kit containing forms for screening, documentation, safety planning, and community action is provided.  Hundreds of photographs, charts, tables, first person accounts, and audio or video interviews enrich the interactive learning experience.

This multimedia program connects scientific knowledge, practical clinical information, and the human experience of family violence in a way that cannot be accomplished in any other medium.
