Every year approximately 10-20% of physicians are named as defendants in medical malpractice suits (and 80% are not).
The purpose of this continuing medical education program is to enable more physicians to join the latter group.
Physicians who complete this program will understand:
| The elements required to prove a claim of medical malpractice | |
| Other legal obligations of physicians | |
| The natural history of malpractice suits | |
| The differences in behavior of non-sued and sued physicians | |
| Strategies for reducing medical malpractice risk |
